Minutes of the OVH Meeting
15 October 2001
The meeting was called to order at 2002 by President Jeff Poulin (N1SN).
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, all present stated their names and call signs.
The Treasurer's report and the past month's minutes were passed.

JOTA: John Fritsch (N4YOB)
October 20th. Jack (N4YIC) is heading up the effort on the day of the event. Urbana Swim club - Portsmith Rd - 234, right on Portsmith going East. Two groups of Scouts - several going for their radio badge. Friday the 19th for set up at 1600h. Operators there by 0730 on Saturday. Operators still needed - contact Jack (N4YIC).
ARES: David Lane (KG4GIY)
Thanks to the people for helping out at Diabetes Walk. The American Diabetes Association was happy to have us and it gave them a real sense of saftey. Next big event it the Marine Corp Marathon - check out the PWC ARES web site (http://www.qsl.net/pwcares/) for a jump to the signup page. Next up is the Christmas Parade on the 1st of December.
Otherwise, keep your HTs charged, your jump kits ready and monitor the repeater (146.970-).

Second class last Tuesday. Disappointing turnout. Do we need to improve our advertizing?
Techincal: Art Whittum (KW4AW)
Bill (K4WRG) is now on the Technical Committee. Still looking for a couple of other volunteers. A couple of things need to be repaired, one could be sold for funds. A Digital Voice Recorder also needs repair and could be sold for funds.

HRO is having ICOM days on the 20th of October at Woodbridge from 10:00 - 5:30.
Sometime next month - a picnic park operation on QRP or other portable power source at a local site.
Ham Fest: Jack McDermott (N4YIC)
Ham fest is chugging along as normal.

Stealth Antennas is this evening's program. Remember Gooches Paradigm - "RF gotta go somewhere". There are no shortage of options from mobiles in the window to long wire running through the gutters. Remember to insulate, and try stuff out. Get it up in the air and things will get out.
