Always thrilled to post here about the arrival of babies!   Congrats to Wayne N7QLK and his YL Vicky on the birth of their Granddaughter on January 5th, Congratulations to the whole family.

Also, congrats to George K4GVT and his YL Ev on the arrival of their Great Grandson born on January 6th.   Very exciting for the entire family!

Update on James KQ4CAX, he has been moved to Lake Manassas Health and Rehab, 14935 Holly Knoll Lane, Gainesville.   If you take Linton Hall Road to Rt 29 South, turn left at the 3rd traffic light and the complex is approx. ¼ mile on the right.   If you have a few minutes please stop in and visit with James.    His wife, Yong is normally there with him during the day and they are thrilled when someone comes in to visit.   James really likes to hear about the OVH and the different things going on.  Please continue to send James and his family your positive energy.

John KG4NXT and I went to visit with Al KB4BHB, he is currently at his son and daughter-in-law’s home in Remington.  He is doing better and has his cell phone if you want to give him a ring, 703-368-4794

The first 2026 Hamfest meeting was held on January 7th at the Hog Shack Restaurant on Dumfries Road.   We covered a lot of info during the meeting and made the decision to move forward with the Hamfest.   I will be sending out an email on the reflector soon asking for help and the spots we need assistance with.   Let’s make 2026 the year that we get great participation from the club.   Thank you to those that came to the meeting and to the club members that emailed me saying they can help but couldn’t make the meeting.  Please see the Hamfest section on our website for information, check back every once in awhile as we will be adding content as it becomes available. I think it is always a good thing when we can promote ham radio!  The first Hamfest of 2026 will be at Middle Peninsula on February 7th. Flyer attached.  KG4NXT and I will be attending to promote our event and hand out flyers, we have also purchased a table.  We did attend this event last year and were very pleased with the attendance and reception we received for attending.

Please make sure the club has your correct call sign and mailing address on our website in the member’s only section – w4ovh.net

Please send me your news, good, not so good and ham related info!  kg4tvm@hotmail.com

Thursday night net at 8 pm is a great way to keep up with current events and hear what everyone is up to with their radios!
