Hamfest Setup

All hands are invited to join the Hamfest setup on Saturday 2 June. Wear your old jeans/work clothes and bring gloves for hefting those big wooden tables in the exhibit hall. We'll meet at the Chic Fil A at 9506 Liberia Ave at 8 am for breakfast courtesy of the club, then on to the Fairgrounds

The OVH ARC regular monthly meeting is at 7:30 p.m. every third Tuesday at the Buckhall Volunteer Fire Department Station, 7190 Yates Ford Road, Manassas, Virginia. Members, prospective members and other interested persons are invited to attend without obligation. Local information can also be obtained through the OVH’s FM repeaters on 146.970-, 224.660-, 442.200+ and 443.500+ MHz.  The OVH’s two D-Star repeaters on 146.865- and 442.5125+ MHz are also fully operational. Up to date information about OVH activities and its meetings is also available during the OVH’s nets on its FM Repeaters each Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. or on 80 meters (3710 KHz) LSB each Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. (8:00 pm in Summer) or through the OVH’s web site at http://w4ovh.net

ARRL Field Day is the single most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada.  in the fourth weekend of June of each year, more than 35,000 radio amateurs gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends tooperate from remote locations. Field Day is a picnic, a campout, practice for emergencies, an informal contest and, most of all, FUN! It is a time where many aspects of Amateur Radio come together to highlight our many roles. While some will treat it as a contest, other groups use the opportunity to practice their emergency response capabilities. Tri-It-Now: Summer Super Sprint, Stroke & Stride and Kids Tri Too/Kids Can Du

Summer Super Sprint: This is a super sprint triathlon, which includes very short distances in each of the 3 sports: 400m swim    8mi bike     2mi run. These distances are about 2/3 of an average sprint triathlon: Great race for first-timers and experienced triathletes to have fun racing to the finish on our short, flat course. Age 10 through ADULT welcome to participate. Stroke & Stride: Exciting event format: The Stroke and Strike is an Aquathlon (swim and run) for ages 10 to 100. We'll swim in a beautiful 50 meter pool, then run on a trail through the woods and along pathways and sidewalks of the George Mason University campus.
