Condolences to Al, KB4BHB – his younger brother passed away in February.
Get well wishes to Vicki, YL of Wayne, N7QLK, who had to spend some time in the hospital in February.
John, KG4NXT and I attended the Vienna Winterfest on March 9th. Handed out a bunch of flyers for our Tailgate Party event. They had a great turnout for this hamfest!
On Saturday, March 8th, the Heritage Hunt Hams had their very first VE Session. This was held after sponsoring classes for interested individuals. The turnout for the classes was incredible; people from as far away as Front Royal attended multiple class sessions. Heritage Hunt asked us for some assistance to run the VE Session, so John, Kg4NXT and I showed up to help. Ten people came in to takes tests and everybody left with a passing grade! Heritage Hunt did a great job!
The Virginia QSO Party is March 15th & 16th, so warm up those radios and hook up the antennas. John & I are planning to be mobile both days, starting up on Skyline Drive. Hope to hear you all! Please make sure you list the OVH as your club on the log when you turn it in. Don’t forget the award ceremony for this QSO Party will be at our Tailgate Party on June 7th.
Special thanks to Ham Radio Outlet (HRO) in Woodbridge. They have a stack of our Tailgate flyers in the front of their shop for people to take.
FredFest in Frederick, MD is on March 22nd. We would like to have some items on our table to sell, so if you have anything, please reach out so we can coordinate with you.
