Pinkie’s Corner

Hello everyone! Pinkie here! It’s been a long time since I wrote to my fellow “hams”. I have missed  everyone! Our activities have been limited this year as we all weather the COVID crisis. I sensed that Jeff was experiencing a little  too much cabin fever being cooped in his basement workshop (right), so I sent him outside with Peaches to watch for Santa! Peaches finally complained that she was freezing, and so they came inside! (Peaches was so disappointed that she didn’t see Santa!) Hmm … I needed a project to keep Jeff from going claustrophobic in the Bat Cave. Aha! Where’s that vacuum cleaner that needed fixing? Uh oh … I should  have been warned  when I saw his fascination with the news about the guy in the … Read more >>

Hello everyone!  It’s that time of year again!  Time to enjoy all the holiday festivities, and also to reflect on all the events of the past year. The club had an outstanding Hamfest in June!  It was one of the best.  We had a new location and everything worked out great! The weather was good for the Christmas parade.  It was a bit cold and windy, but it wasn’t snowing! I got to “ham it up” and wave my little arms off!  A good time was had by all! Our holiday party was a smashing success thanks to Theresa’s hard work and phenomenal planning skills! She’s wonderful at pulling these events together! She created and awarded trophies and certificates to John, Jeff, Don, Wayne, Gil, Byron and Cat for their … Read more >>

Pinkie Pig here!  The last few weeks have been rather hectic.  The hams have been assisting at various events around the area, and then there was Hamfest! We had a light turn-out at the May meeting.  Don M. gave a great presentation on UBITX, which went right over my little pink head. So, don’t ask me any questions!  (I thought it was a new breed of dog, but what do I know?   I’m only a pig!)  Peaches did not attend, as usual.  It was raining, and I think she’s afraid of rain!  Perhaps it was for the best because I heard some talk about “bacon”! We also read in another club member for my fan club! Hamfest was upon us before I could pry Peaches off the couch.  The day … Read more >>

Pinkie Pig here!  We had a delightful April meeting after missing the one in March due to the weather.  I just don’t feel like leaving the pig pen when it’s cold and rainy!  Attendance was fairly light, but we managed to have a good time. Lots of topics and info about upcoming events were discussed.  It sounds like hamfest planning is in full swing!  It won’t be long! Our speaker was Larry, from West Virginia.  His presentation was about illegal transmissions and deliberate interference.  He also talked about “fox hunts”!  I was worried it was going to turn into “pig hunts”!  And on top of all that, all that talk about “raspberry pie” made me hungry!  (Do you ever wonder how they come up with some of those names?) We … Read more >>

Pinkie Pig here! The February meeting was super! We had a huge turnout and club officers were elected. Theresa handed out yummy Valentine treats! (She is so sweet and thoughtful!) The weather was great—-no snow and no rain. However, I did enjoy all those mud puddles last week! Perfect pig weather! Peaches decided not to attend the meeting. She wanted to stay home, watch “Charlotte’s Web”, and drink pink lemonade. I got home and caught her using my pink umbrellas in her lemonade! The nerve of her! I received a surprise from Andy—-a pink pig clock! It’s so cute! Thank you, thank you! I was honored! (Peaches is so jealous! That will teach her to steal my umbrellas!) I need to find a spot to hang it where Peaches can’t … Read more >>

Pinkie Pig here!  It was a splendid beginning to the New Year with a great turnout at our January meeting!  I was tickled pink to see everyone!  A few days after the meeting, several members came down with a cold/flu —- myself included.  Trust me, I was more green than pink for a couple of days!  I hope everyone has recovered! Peaches thoroughly enjoyed the meeting.  She got her picture taken with several folks, and was very excited!  (I think she likes the attention!)  John wore his pig shirt, and Peaches loved it!  Now she wants one! Looking forward to seeing everyone in February!  Stay well and stay as warm as a pig in a blanket! Pinkie signing out —- until next time!

Pinkie on Throne

Pinkie Pig here again!  The holidays are upon us, and it’s time to spread good cheer! Everyone had a wonderful time at our Christmas party.  The food was great – we all pigged out.  Theresa did her usual bang-up job of organizing everything!   We collected a load of toys for the tots.  Awards were given out, and I got to have my picture taken with the Marines!  I was tickled pink!  I got to mingle and ham it up!  Who knew there were so many pig lovers! We all had a lot of laughs, and I had a good chuckle over the poor fellow sitting at the bar in the other room who looked over and thought he saw a large pink pig! Peaches wanted to stay home, watch Pippa … Read more >>

Pinkie Pig here! Reporting in after a glorious day at the Christmas parade. I was just tickled pink at the turnout!! Congratulations and thanks to all of the team that made it happen! I heard that HGTV was going to offer Theresa and Terry a decorating job after seeing the fantastic job they did on the trailer! We all “pigged out” at the catered breakfast at the theatre. That was yummy! I had a “swine” time riding in the parade with Terry. Let me tell you, it’s no easy task getting up into a truck when you are a pig! They make it seem so effortless moving about when they run around and roll in the mud puddles! I loved looking at all the people, but I think they all … Read more >>
